The J.O.Y. group is for members and friends of Avery Church of any age who are young at heart. We meet to enjoy Christian Fellowship through bible studies, potlucks, progressive dinners, game nights and other fun activities. Contact Jeannie Yorgovan to join the group and get information about upcoming events.
“Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained through a righteous life.” Proverbs 16:31

The J.O.Y. members always relish a good meal and camaraderie at our gatherings. Here, we’re partaking in sustenance before engaging in axe throwing at the Lanes.

Margaret was our hero at the Axe throwing outing. She is a real JOY warrior!

J.O.Y Group at the Omaha Community Theater to enjoy an excellent production of Hello Dolly.
Eighteen joyful individuals had a fantastic time at the Omaha Community Playhouse’s production of “Jersey Boys,” while fourteen others attended the Gaither Homecoming Concert at the Bellevue Christian Center. We invite you to join us for additional social and service activities throughout 2025.
In March 8th we went to House of Conundrum to do escape rooms. On March 17th we enjoyed putt putt golf with our Avery Teens. We will end the month of March with our quarterly luncheon at which time we will celebrate the January, February and March birthdays of our members.
We are continuing to collect items for those affected by the recent fire in Bellevue and our Lent project is “40 bags in 40 days” which, instead of giving up sweets for Lent, we give up clutter. Each day in Lent, we fill a bag (any size)
with things we no longer need/use and donate those items to charity. Some items have already been collected and went to Ranae Parks, a one-time
attender of Avery, who lost her house in a fire.
April our ministry will go to Stations of the Cross at The Cloisters on the Platte
on Palm Sunday.
