Community Service Opportunities
Avery Elementary School Liaison
We are in search of a liaison to work with the administrator of Avery Elementary School to determine ways in which Avery Church can assist the students and staff. Our aim is to build on the achievements of our Angel Tree initiative and our effort to supply breakfast items to students who miss the school’s complimentary breakfast. For further details, please reach out to Gary Fuller or Vicki Levene.
Safe Haven Shelter Liaison
The liaison collaborates with shelter staff to assess the necessity for welcome bags and decides on their contents. The liaison also engages with the congregation to fundraise for purchasing welcome bag items or to organize collection drives. For contact, reach out to Janice Bright.
Bellevue Food Pantry Liaison
The liaison collaborates with the Bellevue food pantry to assess their volunteer needs for stocking shelves in the new facility. Additionally, the liaison partners with the Avery Congregation to ascertain food requirements and to organize the collection and delivery of food to the pantry.
